Leaves are fallin

I think I was going through card making withdraw,
so I decided to make some fall themed cards this weekend =)

Ok, the first one isn't really fall themed,
but I made it at the same time so I figured I'd put it up anyways

I love summer. It's one of my favorite things. But I love fall even more, so I was very happy when it got a little cooler this last week. Sure, it was still like 70 degrees outside, but it felt like fall compared to the 90 degree weather we've been having. I wanted to snuggle up in a blanket, read a book, and drink coffee all day. Ok, maybe it's a little soon for that, but hey, one can dream right?

So when we had these fall like days, all I could think about was all the yummy stuff I could bake this year. As I was thinking that, I came across a recipe for zucchini cupcakes. I know, they don't sound that good, but let me just say, our house smelled soo good when they were in the oven! And they tasted really good too :). Man I missed baking!

Our camera broke a few months ago, so I didn't get any pictures of my cupcakes. But I found these pics of an apple crisp that I made earlier this year, and they made me happy. So I'll post those instead :)

2010

I can't believe another year has come and gone already. When I was younger people always told me that time goes faster when you get older, and now I believe it!
But with a new year comes new adventures, experiences, trials, and memories. I can't wait to see what God has in store for my life in this year!
I'm super excited about the two new Herrema babies that are currently in the oven (not mine :P) Little girl Herrema due in April, and little girl or boy Herrema that should arrive any day now. I love being an auntie! =)
As far as baking, I would like to try my hand at decorating cakes, just for the fun of it. I've done a few before, but I want to do more. I received a cake decorating book for Christmas called 'Planet Cake' and there some really cool ideas in it!

Lately I've enjoyed taking pictures while I'm baking. It's just fun =)

Here a bean, there a bean, everywhere a bean bean!

Here are just a few things I've done lately. The first pictures are from my first time making funnel cakes =)

Over the last month or so we've received bags and bags of green beans. All this on top of the ones growing in our own garden. Now, I like beans, but you can only eat them so many times in a row! So I decided to freeze a bunch for the winter =)

With fall right around the corner, I have had canning on my mind! My mom baught me a canning recipe book and there are some really good looking recipes in there! Our pears should be ready in the next couple weeks, so I would like to make and can some pear chutney and pear butter.
I would also like to make peach salsa. We baught a jar at the farmers market and it was amazing, so it inspired me to make my own!

Outdoor adventures

I was watching my niece Patience earlier this week and decided we could both use some fresh air. With the weather finally getting warmer, what better time to try out the new swing we scored at a garage sale?!

You're never too young to enjoy God's beautiful creation! =)

I'm done!!

The day has finally come, after twelve long years of strenuous work and studies, I'm done with school! Now on to the next chapter of my life, which I know is written, I just haven't read it yet, because I have no idea whats next for me. There is one verse that constantly comes to mind as of late. Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Alright, on to the projects. I haven't done too much lately due to exams, but I did do a little work in my bedroom. My mirror wasn't in the best shape, and had scratches and such around the edges. So I was trying to think of something creative to do with it. I ended up framing the mirror with black and white pictures, and I think it looks pretty sweet.

Cards

These are some cards I've made recently. The first one was a project for my grandma. She wanted a card with some of the verbs from Psalm 37, and thats what I came up with =)

I'm kind of new to the card making thing, so they're not the best, but it's a start.
